About Sycamore Labs

I’ve always liked
building things.

The tools have changed. The impulse to make something useful, interesting, or personally meaningful has stayed with me.

From practical tools to public projects

It started with Legos, Lincoln Logs, and models. Later it included buying cars that needed work and figuring out how to fix them up. Technology eventually became another way to build.

Across more than 30 years in business operations and technology, including roughly a decade in product management and strategy, I often built tools for myself and the teams I supported. SQL, VBA, and desktop development helped me simplify work and make day-to-day tasks easier for the people doing them.

Software development was never my primary role. AI coding agents changed the scale of what I could personally create. They let me combine business and product experience, technical curiosity, and a builder’s instinct to take ideas further.

How I choose what to make

There isn’t a single category tying the projects together. SharpTake began with a question about sports statistics. Cyrano came from a conversation with my son. The Middle String began as a personal story. Podcast Hub came from wanting to remember and use what I was learning.

I use AI tools throughout the work, but the decisions remain mine: what problem matters, what a product should do, whether an answer makes sense, which tradeoffs are acceptable, and when a result is ready. Before putting software on the public internet, I also make room for dedicated security reviews and independent checks.

Sycamore Labs brings those projects together. Some are available to use or read; others are experiments that remain personal.
